1. Engineering design, development, installation and support

a. Technical Expertise/Knowledge

c. Executes electrical design, UL508 panel construction, machine installation, programming, and startup of systems.

d. Ensures standardization of control systems and components is maintained.

e. Evaluates existing processes and equipment and recommends modifications and refinements resulting in cost savings, quality and safety improvements.

f. Makes informed recommendations for additions and modifications to new and existing equipment required for manufacturing.

g. Proposes new programs to keep equipment and processes technologically advanced and leading the industry in product quality, productivity, energy efficiency, environmental responsibility and safety.

a. Leads, plans, organizes and controls major projects.

b. Responsible for reaching agreement with customer on cost, schedule and functionality for each new project.

c. Responsible for meeting project goals on cost, schedule and functionality.

d. Handles multiple projects simultaneously.

e. Coordinates the efforts of other engineers, technicians, plant personnel and contractors.

f. Responsible for coaching/mentoring other engineers and technicians.

g. Responsible for Safety Design Process for all projects.

h. Responsible for Contractor Safety for all projects.

3. Consulting and Communications

a. Coaches, reviews, and delegates work to lower-level professionals.

b. Evaluate processes and communicate with operators to identify key issues through Gemba and Kaizen activities.

c. Supports relationships through strong communication and negotiation skills with internal and external stakeholders through cross function teams.

4. Maintenance of Expertise

a. Responsible for electrical expertise in assigned areas of the plant.

b. Attends trade shows, technical seminars, and reads technical publications to keep abreast of the latest technology.

c. Provides training to other engineers, maintenance and plant staff.
