The market leading asset-based lending (“ABL”) group and a unit of Enterprise Credit, is seeking a Senior Business Development Officer (“BDO”) to deliver creative senior secured lending solutions to large corporate and middle market companies in support of their organic growth, M&A transactions, recapitalizations and refinancing’s. Based in either North Bethesda or Baltimore, the BDO will cover Maryland, Metro DC, Virginia, West Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
The BDO’s role is to source new financing opportunities, and lead deal teams through the analysis, approval and execution phases of a transaction. In addition to directly calling on prospective clients, the BDO will develop a local external referral network comprised of private equity firms, investment banks, consultants, direct credit providers, etc., as well as an internal referral network (Global Commercial Banking, Global Corporate & Investment Banking and Global Wealth and Investments Management). The BDO should be capable of working on single bank, club and syndicated ABL transactions. Some travel is required to visit prospects and referral sources.
Importantly, the BDO should be a team player who works respectfully with BABC colleagues, as well as internal and external partners.
Strong oral, written and analytical skills.
Direct calling experience at the CEO, CFO and MD level.
Five+ years of experience in ABL Lending (preferable), Commercial Banking, Private Credit Lending, or Investment Banking.
Series 7 and 63 (if not currently licensed, must be achieved within 180 days of start date).
Completion of a bank credit training program.
Undergraduate BBA or MBA with course work in accounting and finance is helpful, but not a requirement.
